WiMove

We worked with the Rome City Council to support their location and information services.

WiMove powers multi-channel and multi-language tourist and local transport information services targeted at foreigners and people living in the city.

People in Rome can plan their trip, choose the most suitable way of moving around with real time traffic updates and be informed about the tourist services available locally (e.g. bike sharing), using their laptop, smartphone or one of the several kiosks installed in public spaces.
WiMove can integrate information services from many different sources; each source can provide a number of categories of Points of Interest (POIs) that can be layered on a map to provide rich, localised user experiences.

For example, you can provide directions to the Colosseum and help people find the nearest restaurants on their way to it; once there, they could check the latest events (music, theatre, etc.) in their area and allow them to check which bus they need to take and when is the next bus due – in real time.

WiMove was an extremely challenging project as it had to integrate information services from Rome City Council, Google and ATAC (Rome authority for local transports).
